7 Pillars of the Self

Developing the 7 Pillars of the Self in Kids

Pebble Path Journal is a 3-month daily ritual designed for ages 3–7. Pebble Path Journal incorporates CBT, ACT, and somatic therapy strategies to provide a body-based and thought-based approach to childhood mental health. 🌳

We incorporate the 7 pillars of the self to create a holistic approach to emotional development.

  • Self-Awareness: Learning to identify and name internal emotions and physical sensations as they arise.
  • Self-Trust: Building an intuitive "inner compass" so children feel safe and secure within themselves.
  • Self-Compassion: Developing a kind inner voice and learning to be gentle with oneself during mistakes.
  • Self-Esteem: Cultivating an authentic sense of worth that is rooted in character rather than just praise.
  • Self-Confidence: Strengthening the courage to try new things and face challenges with a Growth Mindset.
  • Self-Efficacy: Believing in their own ability to succeed and complete tasks through small, daily wins.
  • Self-Regulation: Mastering Nervous System tools to navigate stress and return to a state of calm.

A foundation of self-awareness & self-trust helps children recognize their needs and intuition.

Fosterting self-esteem & self-compassion, kids develop a sense of worth in who they are.

Self-confidence & self-efficacy give them the courage to try new things and believe they matter.

These all lead to self-regulation, giving them the tools to manage their emotions independently so they can enter adulthood feeling whole and secure.
