Every feeling is part of the journey. Let's explore them together.

Welcome to Internal Compass, the first stop on the Pebble Path - a guided emotional-awareness adventure where kids ages 5–11 learn to understand their feelings, discover what matters to them, and build confidence in who they are.

Along the way, friendly forest characters help make emotional learning approachable, meaningful, and fun. Each day brings something new to explore, creating a simple five-minute ritual that parents and children can look forward to sharing.

Because sometimes the most meaningful conversations begin with one little question.

A little adventure, one day at a time

Over three months, children explore a connected journey of emotional discovery, with a new focus each month. Every daily page includes:

Mood check-in: Pause and notice how you're feeling.

Gratitude moment: Find something meaningful to appreciate.

Daily lesson and affirmation: Explore a helpful idea and build a positive inner voice.

Unique activity or reflection: Draw, write, think, or talk through a new experience.

No two days are exactly alike, giving children fresh opportunities to discover more about themselves.

More than a journal. A moment to connect.

Pebble Path is designed to be explored independently or together with a trusted grown-up. Whether it's part of a bedtime routine, an after-school check-in, or a quiet moment in the classroom, each page creates space for children to express themselves and feel heard.

There's no pressure to have the perfect answer. Just an invitation to slow down, get curious, and grow together.

Thoughtfully designed for emotional growth

Reviewed by therapists and informed by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and body-based (somatic) emotional-awareness practices, Internal Compass helps children:

Recognize and name their emotions.

Notice connections between feelings, thoughts, and body clues.

Explore personal values and what makes them unique.

Practice self-reflection and thoughtful decision-making.

Build a foundation for emotional regulation.

Your first stop on the Pebble Path

My daughter and I love her Pebble journal! We have so much fun every night sitting and reflecting on the day. Such a creative way to dive into your little ones emotions and thoughts, allow them to express, and help them navigate them! Highly recommend!

My daughter loves doing this journal at lunch time and I love the mid day check-in. It gives us both intentional time with each other while doing one of our favorite things. She can’t write yet, but loves to color (and eat!). Thank you for creating such a thoughtful journal so our littles can work through their feelings even when they can’t verbalize them yet.

A journal my son actually wants to use

I got this for my 8-year-old son because I wanted something that would help him understand his emotions without feeling like another lesson or worksheet. He can be pretty private about his feelings, so I wasn't sure how he'd respond, but he actually looks forward to doing it.

I really like that it doesn't tell him that certain feelings are "bad" or that he needs to get over them. It helps him slow down, notice what he's feeling, and think about what's going on underneath it. We've had some surprisingly good conversations come from his answers.

The prompts are simple enough for him to do independently, but they also give us an easy way to talk about things that don't always come up naturally. I especially love that it only takes a few minutes, because that's realistic for our family.

It's become a small part of our routine, and I've already noticed him getting better at putting words to what he's feeling. I'm really glad we found this.

I bought these journals for my sons. It’s a great interactive journal that teaches emotional awareness, gratitude practice and emotional regulation skills. They love the different characters in the journal that act as “guides” during your journal journey. Beautifully designed and a very kid friendly format. I’ll definitely be buying Journal 2 when it’s released.

I was genuinely impressed by the Pebble Path Journal from the moment I opened it.

The overall visuals are clean, calm, and incredibly inviting. As an occupational therapist and Emotional regulation coach, who cares deeply about how nervous-system-friendly design impacts engagement, I immediately appreciated how soothing and uncluttered it feels. It’s not overstimulating, it’s grounding.

The characters are especially well done. They’re engaging, child-friendly, and simple in the best way. I love that there are only three characters. That simplicity makes it easier for children to follow along, understand, and build familiarity without cognitive overload.

One of my favorite elements is the visual of the path itself. It’s such a powerful and accessible metaphor for children, that we are walking a path, not reaching a destination. The skills they practice (breathing, mindfulness, emotional awareness) aren’t one-time fixes. They’re tools we use along the road. The path imagery makes that concept tangible and developmentally appropriate.

My twins are almost five and not yet writing independently, but the journal is still very user-friendly. It invites parent-child connection, sitting together, talking through big feelings, writing alongside them, and modeling the skills in real time.

The coloring pages are engaging, the daily check-ins are motivating, and the varied activities keep it fresh and interesting. It doesn’t feel repetitive, which is so important for young children.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend the Pebble Path Journal as a supportive tool for parents navigating big emotions with their children. It creates structure, connection, and skill-building in a way that feels gentle and accessible.

Such a thoughtful resource.

Pebble Path Journal #1 turns reading time into a meaningful and thought provoking interaction for both children and parents. This book opens up and challenges each child with new ways to become more self aware along each step of the path. The illustrations are sweet and genuinely engaging. Looking forward to Pebble Path Journal #2!

My husband and I bought this journal for our 6 year old son. We alternative bedtime duty but this is a consistent thing he works on each night. It has been a great way for him to bond with both of us and to reflect on his day before he goes to sleep. He had been having a hard time at night but we've been using this for the past month and I'm already noticing a shift. Thank you!

We started using this journal with our 4 year old. It has been a great way to build in a daily special time to talk and connect. Life is so busy, and this has really helped me be consistent with this intentional time.
I love how it is guided and no two days are the same. I can already see my daughter recognizing her feelings easier and using some of the coping skills we've learned in the journal. I would highly recommend this journal!

I purchased this for each of my 5 year old grandchildren. My daughter is an elementary school guidance counselor and she loves using it with my granddaughter. It’s so cute and a great way to facilitate a child’s emotional development. Thank you for developing such a great tool for young children!

This book is such an important and age appropriate way to start the conversation with your young kids about feelings and managing your emotions. As a therapist, who works with anxious kids and families, being able to provide them with resources that kids enjoy engaging with is a great way to develop new skills such as mindfulness and deep breathing. Highly recommend!!

As a Licensed Counselor and a mom of 3, I can't say enough good things about this journal! It builds foundational emotional skills that help children identify their emotions, practice gratitude and learn tools to regulate their big feelings. And the best part is that my 3 and 4 year old are genuinely so excited to use it nightly! These tools are backed by science yet fun enough that your kids will actually want to stick with it!
